Smallest deer in the world was born in Bristol Zoo, UK.
Baby deer was born on May 6, weighing only one kilogram at birth. One month after birth, his weight reached 1.8 kg, half that of a newborn baby.  Baby Pudu is part of an international species conservation. Pudu deer have white spots on their back to help camouflage and avoid predators.
Pudu deer are classified as a vulnerable species. It lives in temperate rainforests of Chile and southwestern Argentina. But the number of specimens of this species has declined considerably in recent years because of destruction of forest habitat for agriculture extension and other human activities.
Pudu deer stand as the smallest species of deer, reaching a maximum height of 38 inches at maturity and weighing about 9-15 pounds. The maximum size of the horns is 10 inches.
